Happiness of Soul
The full use of your powers
along lines of excellence.
—DEFINITION OF “HAPPINESS” BY JOHN F. KENNEDY
Happiness arises from inside of us, and play with whatever appears to be bringing those apparently outer pleasures. This inner-outer happiness play may create the illusion that your happiness is actually coming from the outer pleasures, however it is not.
This becomes crystal clear when we discover that certain situations that had once brought great happiness no longer create the same effect. Time and time again, each of us is given opportunities to learn and remember that it is not outer things that bring happiness, but the interactions of our inner thoughts and feelings with those things. Our inner thoughts and feelings are the basis of both our happiness and our unhappiness.
Many workers, students, employees, businessmen anywhere feeling little or more stress or any other kind of psychic problems. Many people have spill over stress from home into their working environment. There are a couple of ways businesses today try to alleviate stress on their employees. One way is individual intervention. This starts off by monitoring the stressors in the individual. After monitoring what causes the stress, next is attacking that stressor and trying to figure out ways to alleviate them in any way. Developing social support is vital in individual intervention, being with others to help you cope has proven to be a very effective way to avoid stress. Avoiding the stressors all together is the best possible way to get rid of stress but that is very difficult to do in the workplace. Changing behavioral patterns, may in turn, help reduce some of the stress that is put on at work as well.
After reading some books of ancient India like as vedas, upanishads, bhagavad gita, yog sutra I come to know some remedies of peace of soul and mind.
1. Leave expectation of result of our deeds.
this whole idea is defined into holy gita. Everyday human try to do anything in his/her day with the focus of result in his/her mind. That approach always keep him/her in worry about his/her effort that, will it behave as I have expected? It is clearly defined in holy gita human should have to move towards another goal after finish first one without waiting of result of first one.
“Karmanye Vadhikaraste, Ma phaleshou kada chana,
Ma Karma Phala Hetur Bhurmatey Sangostva Akarmani.”
In this case Krishna tells Arjun that no matter what is the result of the war, he should not be worried about it. His duty is to fight, then he has to fight. He wins or loses that is not important. Even if he dies during the war, he will attain heaven because he has correctly performed his duty.
Now coming to the second phrase of the above verse, Krishna also advises Arjun that he should never let the fruit be the purpose of his action, in this case the action is his fight and the fruit is either he wins or loses. In other words he is not supposed to worry about victory or defeat. Either one wins or loses, he must be neutral about it.
2. Selfishness can put you in trouble and stressful.
When we help someone, we don’t do it for the sake of something in return, whether we are rewarded for our actions or not, this is not our concern. And when we help someone without worrying about our own gains, this is selflessness. We don’t think what are we going to get from that. The importance is that as a human being we have been able to help someone.
3. Approach of let go for some painful matters.
Process of letting go of the feeling and preceding thought. Becoming aware of them rather than just reacting on auto-pilot is the critical first step. Releasing the emotion and spotting the untruth are the second and third steps – and are really a process of dis-identification. Then the behavior pattern will also no longer have any roots in order to continue in place. To releasing to be permanent you also need to spot the underlying irrational thought, assumption, decision or intention, and how it has been driving your emotions. Now the emotion is cleared it will no longer be dominating your view of the situation and these thoughts will be exposed. Upon examination it becomes clear that you can change your mind about this and see things differently, so will you no longer need to feel upset in similar circumstances and have new freedom to behave in ways more aligned with your goals in life.
4. Think to do good for society.
I am living in society, society is not living in me. so if society is well state then I will be automatically in good state. C. joybell has said that “Life is too short to waste any amount of time on wondering what other people think about you. In the first place, if they had better things going on in their lives, they wouldn’t have the time to sit around and talk about you. What’s important to me is not others’ opinions of me, but what’s important to me is my opinion of myself.”
5. Morality in Life.
Morality impacts our everyday decisions, and those choices are directed by our conscience. Again, we must decide for ourselves where the conscience originates. Many people hold to the idea that the conscience is a matter of our hearts, that concepts of right, wrong, and fairness are “programmed” in each of us. This is in keeping with the writings of Paul the Apostle, who points out that even those who do not believe in God frequently obey God’s laws. Our morals affect our actions and reactions.
What is important to one does not have to be important to another. For example, I do not believe that education is the most important value of our life, but knowledge is. Knowledge can be obtained through education. Morals and ethics also affect society.
These are five principle to rid out from stress and other psychic diseases Here whatever is described its just drop of ancient India’s holy books.
